ADAMS Mrs. Edna P. Adams, of 2867 Ribault Scenic Drive, passed away April 20, 2005. Mrs. Adams held membership in Ebenezer United Methodist Church, the Rev. Newton Williams, where she was active with the United Methodist Women, the Administrative Council, as well as other areas of church activities. She was a graduate of Florida A. and M. University and was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Quettes. She retired from the Duval County School System following 42 years of exemplary service. Survivors include: a devoted god-daughter, Mrs. Dottye Joy Young; nephews, Dr. Jack Gant, of Tallahassee, and Ernest, Carl and Lamar McLendon, all of Cleveland, Ohio, and James McLendon, of Cincinnati, Ohio, nieces, Dr. Jacquelyn McLendon, of Newport News, Va., Erma Williams, of Augusta, Ga., Bettye King, Nashville, Tn. and Mary Gant of Bainbridge, Ga., other relatives and many friends. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, with Pastor Williams officiating. Mrs. Adams will rest at the mortuary for the visitation of friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday (TODAY) and at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service Saturday. The funeral cortege will assemble at the residence. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Wendell Holmes Funeral Directors, 2719 W. Edgewood Ave., Wendell Holmes, F.D.I.C.
