Barbara J. Jacques (nee Jacob), of Tawas City, formerly of Saginaw, passed away peacefully at her home under the loving care of her family and hospice on Thursday, October 3, 2013, age 81 years.

Barbara was born on October 5, 1931 in Saginaw to Royal Benjamin and Eleanor Mildred (Randall) Jacob. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw. Barbara worked as a Reas Estate Agent for Sunshine Realty for over 20 years. She was an avid sports fan, particularly enjoying Tiger baseball, Michigan and Michigan State football. She always enjoyed meeting her friends for the Friday Ladies Lunch Group. Most importantly, Barbara truly adored and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren and keeping up with all of their activities. Barbara married her husband, James E. Jacques, M.D. on November 26, 1953. Together they celebrated 59 beautiful years of marriage!

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, James E. Jacques, M.D., of Tawas City, 5 children, James (Kristine) Jacques of Clarkston, Michael (Cindy) Jacques of Tawas City, Mark Jacques of Pine Island, Florida, Julie (Brad) Potts of East Tawas, and David Jacques of Tawas City; grandchildren, Luke, Olivia, Jamie, Heather, Sara, Michelle, Joseph, Jacob, Joshua, and Benjamin (Beth) Jacques, Carly (Sam) Lixey, Ryan and Tyler Jacques, Jillian Potts, and Jenna (Jordan) Miller; great grandchildren, Ryder Mathiak, Rosetta and James Jacques, Holdyn Miller, and Noah Lixey; 1 brother, Gregg Michael (Vivian) Jacob; 2 sister in laws, Barbara Jacob of Tawas City, and Barbara Jacob of Traverse City; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Barbara is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Royal Barry Jacob and William Randall Jacob. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Charles Donajkowski officiating. Her family will welcome friends at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are encouraged to consider either the Tawas St. Joseph Hospital or Reverence Home Health Care and Hospice of Tawas City in her honor.
