Abingdon - Edward R. Behymer, 63, of 507 S. Main St. died at 10:37 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 1994, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
Born Sept. 5, 1931, in Brown County to Orville and Eva Dunbar Behymer, he married Jeanine Schisler on Feb. 17, 1973, in Abingdon. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Joe of Gardena, Calif., and Conrad of Bardolph; four daughters, Anne Behymer of Abingdon, Gail Hill of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Monica Simpson of Hawthorne, Calif., and Karen Halton of Torrance, Calif.; several grandchildren; four brothers, Don of Rushville, and Leroy, Steve and Richard, all of Mount Sterling; and two sisters, Gloria Fry of Mount Sterling and Carrol Stienburg of Meredosia. He was preceded in death by an infant brother.
He lived most of his life in the Macomb area and attended schools in Brown County. He lived in Kewanee for two years and lived in Abingdon the past year. A self-employed truck driver, he retired in 1993. He served in the Air Force Air Rangers during the Korean War.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. The Rev. Jon Keck will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 381.
