Avon - Loyd M. "Red" Aringdale, 84, Avon, died at 1:57 p.m. Monday (Sept. 4, 2006) in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born Feb. 15, 1922, in Avon, the son of Lloyd and Hilda Jane Witter Aringdale.
He married Bernita Beaston on Aug. 21, 1953, in Galesburg.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Suzanne (and Jerry) Ewalt, Galesburg; two sisters, Barbara Thurman, Abingdon, and Nancy (and Jean) Stenger, Bushnell; and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a sister.
He lived all his life in Avon.
He served in the Army for six years, stationed in the South Pacific.
He was a caster at Briggs Manufacturing in Abingdon for 30 years, retiring in 1976.
He enjoyed gardening.
Cremation was accorded. Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Corman Memorial Home, Avon. Burial will be in Avon Cemetery.
