Born December 2, 1903 in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Judith (Burger) Metcalfe. She lived all of her life in the Quincy area.
Mrs. Blair attended the Quincy Schools and then attended the Westchester School of Nursing in Westchester, PA.
She was married to the late John W. Blair. Mr. Blair died on January 17, 1956. They moved to their Hess-Benedict Road address in 1933. Mrs. Blair entered the nursing home on July 16, 1996.
Mrs. Blair was first employed as a nurse at the Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, PA. She served as a community nurse from 1947 until retiring in 1975. She received the Woman of the Year award in the mid 1970's.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Quincy.
She is survived by one son, Retired Colonel John M. "Jack" Blair, Anchorage, Alaska; two grandsons, Dr. John M. Blair, Jr., Tacoma, Washington and Douglas A. Blair, St. Louis, MO; one great-grandson, Scott A. Blair, Tacoma, Washington.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Jean T. Blair who died in 1920 and one sister, Mary L. Metcalfe, who died on June 23, 1976.
