After a month’s illness, Mrs. Bell Abernathy passed away at her residence on Summit Street Monday evening.
A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kelley of Forsyth County, she was the widow of the late Marion Abernathy, who died eight years ago.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at four o’clock from Gilmer Street Baptist Church, of which she was a member. Rev. Walter Bryant conducted the services, assisted by Rev. M.V. Stedham. Solo numbers by Henry Dean “Precious Memories” and “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” made impressive these obsequies.
Mrs. Abernathy is survived by one son, Roy, of Cartersville, and two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Boston, also of Cartersville, and Mrs. Pearl Hufstetler of Dawson.
Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery under direction of Owen Funeral Home.
A Card of Thanks
We desire to take this means of extending grateful thanks to all our friends who stood by us during the illness and after the death of our beloved mother. She wanted all her friends to know how thankful she was to have such devoted friends who stood by her at all times. And May The Good Father suit a special blessing to each and every one of you is our prayers.
(Signed) Mrs. Lillie Boston, Mrs. Pearl Hufstetler, Roy Abernathy
