Funeral services for Evelyn H. Adkins, 88, of Auburn will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Fredericks Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Jeffers officiating. Burial will follow at Auburn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 28, 2006 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Fredericks Funeral Home.
Mrs. Adkins was born September 26, 1917 and passed away March 25, 2006 at her residence in Auburn. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Auburn, DAR, the Order of Eastern Star, Pilot Club, Camelia Club, Auburn Garden Club and Auburn Womens Club. She was an administrative assistant for twenty years at the Social Center of Auburn University and a twenty year volunteer at the East Alabama Medical Center. She founded the William P. Adkins Memorial Scholarship.
Mrs. Adkins was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, William P. Adkins and daughter, Joan Hammond. Mrs. Adkins is survived by her son, William P. Adkins, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Natalie of Largo, Florida; three sisters, Jessie Burt, Rome, GA, Nettie Roberts, Smyrna, GA and Geneva Bourdeau of Peachtree City, GA. Six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Flowers are accepted by the family or donations may be made to the William P. Adkins Memorial Scholarship Fund at Auburn University.
