Worley was the son of the late Aquila P. and Bertie Lee Strickland Worley, Sr. Mr. Worley retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service and became very active in the community serving on the Columbus County Public Library Board of Directors, Chadbourn Community Library Board of Directors, West Columbus High School Advisory Board, President of the Greater Chadbourn Chamber of Commerce, Regional Director for the Employment Security Commission, owner/operator of the Hasty Mart in Chadbourn and a former buffalo breeder
