Company F "Avant Southrons" of Lafayette County, 19th Mississippi Infantry, Posey's Brigade, Anderson's Division, 1st Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Residence was not listed; 22 years old.
Enlisted 2/25/1862 at Oxford, MS, he was mustered into "F" Co. MS 19th Infantry as a Private.
Absent, sick 12/28/1862 with typhoid fever in General Hospital #2, Richmond; died there.
His father, Henry, of Spartansburg District, SC, filed a Settlement Claim 5/9/1863; he was paid $22.33.

The 19th Infantry Regiment completed its organization at Oxford, Mississippi, in May, 1861, and soon moved to Virginia. The men were raised in the counties of Warren, Jefferson, Greene, Panola, Marshall. (bio by: BigFrench)
