Wes was born in Redmond, Ore. Nov. 20 1929 to Emil Henske and Clara (Hofstetter) Henske. He went through school in Metolius, graduating from Madras High School in 1947. He immediately went into construction,working on the Garrison Dam in North Dakota for Adler Construction.He married Doris Brown in Madras, Ore. in 1950. He farmed in Madras for his father-in-law, then moved to a cattle ranch in Canby, Calif. He moved briefly back to Madras, then in the spring of 1959 moved to the Boise Valley, where he worked as a carpenter from 1959 to 1963. In 1963 he started LSR Construction, doing heavy construction, putting in bridges and culverts for the Forest Service in Adams County. He moved with his family to the Riggins area while he commuted to Boise, where he worked for several land developers installing water, sewer and storm drains. He served as president of Associated Builders and Contractors, promoting small business concerns. He received his pilotīs license and owned two Cessnas, which he loved to fly. He enjoyed several fishing trips to Baja, Mexico, Glacier Bay and the Arctic Circle. After retiring, he got interested in old tractors and engines. He joined Treasure Valley Antique Power Association and participated in tractor pulls and shows. He enjoyed showing engines and visiting with people at the Western Idaho Fair. Family was very important to Wes. He enjoyed family get-togethers, school reunions and friends at the coffee shop. He loved to help others with their projects and problems, and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
