Jonathan Kyle Campbell better known as "Jon Jon" by his close family and friends was born to the union of my co -worker Lillie and Cleo Campbell. "Jon Jon" had a wonderful sense of humor, according to all who spoke at his wake. His nephew said that his uncle LOVED video games and sometimese would play until 5 in the morning only to continue the next day. Jonathan was born in Chicago "ON A VERY COLD DAY".

Jon was a very athletic person and loved the game of footballand basketball. He graduated Hyde Park Career Academy High School. When he was younger he played for Jackie Robinson's Little League Baseball team. After graduation Hyde Park, he pursued his dream of joining the United States Air Force because of his love of flying. He also loved to travel so joining the United States Air Force allowed him to fulfill both his passion for traveling and for flying. Jonathan served his country proudly for 4 years in Iraq. Jonathan was part of the Special Forces Military Police Team. During basic training he was recogniuzed for his leadership qualitites and selected to lead his core of new recruits.
Upon returning home in September 2007, he was assigned to Dover Air Force Base in Deleare. It was there where he completed his term of service to the United States Air Forcein the Special Forces Detail.
Jonathan was a kind, generous and thoughtful loving man. He lvoed his family and friends and during the wake service someone commented that you knew right away if he liked you or not, he held nothing back and that gave him his "real" spirit.
Jonathan was quoted as saying " I am just a simple man".
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: His mother Lillie, his father; Cleo Sr. 6 brothers: Cleo Jr, Allan, Chris, Coy, Jacob (Kutana) and Justin. Also 3 sisters Kelly, Brandie and Lillie. Four nieces: Sandra. Leyla, Yasmeen and Natalie. Three nephews: Alan, Najee and Jacob III. A host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.
Jonathan entered into everlasting peace of Friday February 27, 2009 and 4:30 AM. "ON A VERY COLD DAY".
