Mrs. McKenzie was a homemaker, member of Pisgah Baptist Church and Fairland Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon McKenzie, 2 sons: Vernon McKenzie and Arlis McKenzie and 4 grandchildren.She has 3 sons and 3 daughters surviving her.
I grew up living next door to Mrs. McKenzie my whole life. We used to bring her meals of fried fish all the time. She absolutely loved fried fish and my Mom's hush puppies. After she went into the nursing home, I visited her regularly. I miss her dearly.
