Mrs. E. B. Amos, sister of Stanford Laughlin of this city, and life-long resident of Maxie and Ellis communities, died at 5 p. m., Sunday, at the American Legion Memorial hospital in Crowley. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p. m., Monday, at the Maxie Methodist church, the Rev. J. A. Russell, pastor of the Nazarene church, officiating. Interment was in the family cemetery at Maxie, under direction of Geesey-Ferguson, funeral directors of Crowley.

Several friends from Eunice were among the large number at her funeral. Surviving, are Mrs. Ernest McClelland of Basile; C. H. Welch, Opelousas, and Martin Welch of Crowley, children by a former marriage.

In the year 1900, she was married to E.B. Amos, a native of London, England, who died in 1926. The following children survive this union, Alfred Amos, Maxie; Mrs. Ambrose (Nellie) Menard, Sulphur; Mrs. Leo Ziegler, Crowley. The following brothers and sisters, Stanford Laughlin, Eunice, Albert Laughlin, Port Arthur, Texas Mary A. Hayes, Crowley, Mrs. Robert Hach, Ashland, Oregon.

Mrs. Amos was born in 1867 and would have been 70 if she had lived until June 23rd. She was living in the home of her birth when fatally stricken.

Hers was a life of activity in the Maxie and Ellis communities, where she was admired and Ioved by many friends, her acts of charity, visiting the sick and exemplifying the neighborly, Christian life at all times, commending her to many in this section of Acadia Parish.

She was a charter member of the Church of the Nazarene at Ellis, in which she labored with tireless devotion throughout her life, thus setting a praiseworthy example of Christian service and undiminishing faith in her Lord and Master.
