Sr. Guadalupe Fidelia Aguilar
(July 27, 1925 - October 28, 2006)

Sr. Guadalupe Fidelia Aguilar, 81, of Leavenworth, Kansas formerly of Atchison, Kansas passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri.

In 1946 she entered the convent of Las Misioneras Guadalupanan de Cristo Rey, O.S.B. in Mexico City. She served at the former St. Benedict's College, Atchison, Kansas and then for four years in Oklahoma, returning to Atchison in 1972 where she assisted in food service of the former Maur Hill Prep School until her retirement in 2002. In 2002 she with her community moved to Leavenworth, Kansas.

She is survived by one sister, Sr. Piedad Aguilar, Mexico City, Mexico, and her religious community of Mexican Sisters of both Leavenworth, Kansas and in Mexico.

A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 31, 2006 in the chapel of Maur Hill Mt. Academy School, 1000 Green Street, Atchison, Kansas with Abbot Barnabas Senecal, O.S.B. as principle celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A rosary will be recited Monday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, Atchison, Kansas with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to Maur Hill Mexican Sisters, 1000 Green Street, Atchison, Kansas 66002.
