Funeral service with military honors for Troy Leon Taber will be 2 p.m., Tues., Feb. 22, at New Hope Church of God and Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. Olien Lee Taber officiating. Troy died Fri., Feb. 18, 2005, at his home in Tulsa. He was 79 years old.
The son of Thomas and Minnie Belle Taber was born Jan. 15, 1926, in Claremore. Troy served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On March 20, 1949, he married Pauline Burkhead. Troy worked as a truck driver and they made their home in Miami for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors and fishing.
Troy is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Pauline; son, Roy Lee Taber; siblings: Leroy, J.T., Cecil, Ray, Olien, Marvin, Arthur, Addie, and Dollie; and granddaughter, Lisa Marie O'Banion.
He is survived by his children: Donald Ray Taber of Tulsa, Judith Ann Waldon of Miami, Jerry Ray Taber and wife, Michelle, and Johnny Ray Taber of Tulsa; sister Betty Baldridge of Enid; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
