CARL AHLERT TAKES OWN LIFE WEDNESDAY

Carl Ahlert, a young and highly respected young farmer, who resided about five miles northeast of Palisade took his own life by using a 25-20 rifle, Wednesday of this week a bout the noon hour. Mr. Alhert came into the house after having spent the morning working at the farm, as usual, inquired whether dinner was ready and then went on into the bedroom where he ended his life. Despondency was given as the cause for this action.

Funeral services will be held at the Lutheran Church in Palisade on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock and burial will be made in the Palisade Cemetery.

OBITUARY

Carl Alhert, son of Chris and Mary Alhert was born November 3, 1904, on the farm where he was living and passed from this life on Wednesday, November 9, 1938 at the age of 34 years and 6 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Edna Bartles on the 25th day of August, 1938, by the Rev. Carl Gieshler at Denver, Colorado.

He leaves to mourn his passing, besides, his wife, his mother, Mrs. Mary Alhert and one sister, Mrs. Ed Wittwer, all of Palisade. Funeral services were conducted at the Lutheran Church in Palisade on Saturday, November 12th and burial was made in the Palisade Cemetery.
