Gladys Alacci, age 80, of Patterson (Putnam Lake), died Thursday, October 7, in Carmel.

Mrs. Alacci was born December 10, 1929, in Manhattan to Roscoe and Carmen (Rodriguez) Dalton. She graduated from schools in Manhattan.

Mrs. Alacci married Dominick Alacci on June 20, 1954, at St. Elizabeth's Church in Manhattan. Mr. Alacci died July 24, 1996.


Mrs. Alacci was a cafeteria cashier for over 10 years at the Einstein Hospital in the Bronx, retiring in 1994. She was a resident of Putnam Lake since Sept. 1988, having lived in the Bronx for many years prior.

Mrs. Alacci was a member of the Putnam Lake Seniors, Sacred Heart Church and the Catholic Daughters of America – Lady of the Lake, both of Putnam Lake. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and trips to both the casinos and the dinner theater. She was also an avid Yankee fan.

Mrs. Alacci is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann Petrellese of Milltown, NJ, and her son ,Donald Alacci of Putnam Lake; a sister, Dora Gruntler of Tivoli, NY; and six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Carol Maria Alacci in 1995, and a sister, Anna Dalton.
