Noela Fa'apusafualelagileainimeaetaoai Aumua Sulufa'iga Pa'ala Auva'a was the first born of Aumau and Lemalie Pa'ala on December 25, 1946 in Pago Pago, American Samoa. Noela attended Pago Pago Elementary & graduated from Samoana High School in 1965. At the age of 19, Noela joined a Polynesian dance group in American Samoa and traveled aboard. She left American Samoa to pursue her dancing career in the United States. She danced and toured many places in the U.S.

Noela eventually settled in Carson, California where she had a beautiful baby girl, June Noel Thorton. She returned to Samoa for a couple of years to be with her family. She remained in Samoa until her family decided to move to the United States. Noela worked, attended classes at Harbor College, and was a member of the Lokou ole Ola of Carson, also known as "Foisia's Church."

At the age of 23 Noela met Richard Hymas whom she married. With that union she was blessed with two children, Richard Jr. and Todd. She worked for many years with the Department of Social Services.

In 1980, she met and married Joseph Auva'a. The two were blessed with two more children, Jennifer Nafanua & Joseph Jr. (Preceeded in death) They moved to Seattle, Washington where she worked as a manager of several apartment complexes.

Noela was full of life. Her greatest joy was serving the Lord. She was beautiful indie and out.
