"Richard William Speelman, 39, Liberty, died April 11, 1990, at Saint Joseph Health Center. He was born in Enid, Okla., and moved to this area in 1955. Mr. Speelman was a computer programmer at United Micrographic Systems, Inc., before 1979. He was a member of the McMurry United Methodist Church. He was a past president of the Liberty Jaycees and was an ambassador with the United States Jaycees. Survivors include his wife, Jahna Speelman, two daughters, Holly Speelman and Susan Speelman, all of the home; his parents, William and Lettie Speelman of Kansas City; two brothers, Robert Speelman of Tampa, Fla., and Army Master Sgt. Dale Arthur Speelman of of Fort George G. Meade, Md.; a sister, Mary Morris of Kansas City; and his maternal grandmother, Mary Tharp of Kansas City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church; burial in White Chapel Cemetery." The Kansas City Star, April 13, 1990
