Daughter of Benjamin Turley and Ann "Nancy" Marllor Noland. She was born about 1800. The 1850 U.S. Census indicates that she was born 1805.

She married Joseph C. Davis (b. about 1799, d. after 1880) of North Carolina. They were wed in 1821 in Boone County, Missouri. The 1850 U.S. Census shows that they resided in Blue, Jackson County, Missouri.

In 1852 the family moved from Missouri to Mud Springs (El Dorado), California. (Her brother Stephen died in Mud Springs in 1851 during the Gold Rush.) The trip took 5 months and 10 days. They moved to Mariposa County within the next year or so and then to Contra Costa County, near Pachecho (see 1860 U.S Census and History of Contra Costa County, California, pp. 548-549.)

She apparently died sometime between 1860 and 1880 for her spouse Joseph is listed as a widower in the 1880 U.S. Census. It is thought that she is buried in the San Francisco area.

Two of her sons, Columbus Turley Davis (1848-1888) and Solomon Paul Davis (1842-1923), and her great grand daughter Josie Brewen were passengers of the ship "City of Chester" when it tragically collided with another ship in San Francisco Bay in 1888. Columbus and Josie did not survive.

Children of Anna and Joseph:
Marion Lum Davis (1826-?)
Joseph Davis (1827-1861)
Jefferson Davis (1828-?)
Elizabeth (Davis) Crabtree (1828-1909)
Caroline (Davis) Brewen (1830-1911)
Angous Davis (1832-?)
Sarah Davis (1836-1906)
Juliet (Davis) Gilbert (1840-1912)
Solomon Paul Davis (1842-1923)
Columbus Turley Davis (1848-1888).
