DONALD JOHNSON

MIAMI, Okla. -- Donald Dean Johnson, 76, 2105 E. Rockdale Blvd., died at 12:20 a.m. Monday at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo. after a short illness.

Mr. Johnson was born June 25, 1917, at Westfield, Wis. He graduated in 1935 from Westfield High School, in 1938 from the Spartan School of Aeronautics at Tulsa, Okla., and in 1942 from the University of Wisconsin Madison.

He moved to Miami from Westfield in 1948. He owned Johnson's Flower Shop and Greenhouse in Miami from 1948 to 1975. He also taught at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Miami, for five years. He established the horticulture department at the college.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Miami. He was a pilot and first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

He married Nancy Ann Brauer on Oct. 14, 1943, at San Antonio, Texas. She survives.

Additional survivors include a sister, Ethel Russell, Kansas City, Mo.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mission Cemetery South, San Antonio. J.D. Brown will officiate.

Local memorial services are pending with Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.
