His parents were William Alexander Davis (1878-1937) who was born in Mississippi and Texana/Texanna (or Texas) ALLMAN (1879-1968) who was born in Florida.

His niece, Sandy Hall wrote these heartfelt memories of him.

Uncle Nathan is buried at County Line, next to Aunt Jo. I have some photos of him in older age, but none younger. He came to visit me and Jack when we lived in California. After traveling all over the world with Humble Oil, and living in many places, he told Mary Jo (he was the only daddy she knew) that his trip to see us was the best time he ever had and the most lovely places to sight-see.

As you can tell, I loved him dearly, even though he was not our blood, but he was my Uncle all my life. He and Aunt Jo actually wanted to adopt me, as they had no children together … may he and she rest in peace. I was extremely close to them as a child. Culpurnia lived with them, and I think that is why I was so close to her, and am so happy I was able to get to know her. Aunt Jo took care of me when I had the mumps...such memories.
