Ragtime SongCatcher C.D., T.T
(C.D. is a Companion Dog title in obedience and TT is Temperament Testing)
Catcher was a one-of-a-kind dog. He always gave me everything he had. He won every race he ran when we went lure-coursing and got his three CD wins in the high 90's, narrowly missing earning a Dog World award. He was one of the few greyhounds that could be protection trained. He loved to bite the sleeve, but he also loved people. I thought about that when, at a dog show, young girls were hugging him and he was making "doe-eyes" at them. The day before he had been latching on to the decoy's arm. He suprised the judge at the temperment test when the mild-mannered greyhound charged at the "hostile stranger" barking and ready to do battle.
He loved other dogs, particularly if they looked like a greyhound but strangely, all my Border Collies groveled and paid homage to him. He was a devoted friend. I will miss him.
