Born 1927 to parents Ralph E. Burbridge (b.1896, d.1973) and Alma C. Olson-Burbridge-Poole (b.1900, d.1950). Graduated Taft Union High School class of 1944, and honored as one of the top students. Graduated UCLA class of 1948 as an English major. In 1948 married Jack W. Adams Jr. (b.1926, d.1986) in Taft, California. Moved to Los Angeles, then to Long Beach in 1951. Four children: Carolyn Adams-Hess (b.1949), Vicki Adams-Keuhn (b.1952), Jeff Adams (b.1955), and Greg Adams (b.1956). Skillfully ran a busy household and raised four children through the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. In spare time, enjoyed reading, sewing, social activities with her women's club, and other pursuits. After all four children had grown, enjoyed travelling with Jack to various parts of the world and relaxing in their mountain cabin built in 1974 in Idyllwild, California.
