Jesse Perchle Hulce died at the age of 69 years on January 9, 1912 in Peru, Miami County, Indiana. He was born in Union County, Ohio on September 22, 1842. He served proudly in the 46th Indiana Volunteer Infantry, Company B. After he got out of the army, he married Adaline G. Townsend on April 21, 1865 in Hooverville, Cass County, Indiana at the age of 22.
To their union they had three children: Ida Della Hulce Howard (1867-1934), Robert Omer Hulce (1872-1957), and Harriette Elizabeth "Hattie" Hulce Anderson (1877-1938).
He moved with his family to Peru, Miami County, Indiana, and he remained there the rest of his life. He was a plasterer by trade.
According to his death certificate, he died from apoplexy which is a term to describe a sudden death either by stroke or myocardial infarction.
His burial was at the Oak Grove Cemetery which merged into Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru, Miami County, Indiana. His military headstone was placed on October 27, 1938. Fetter-Adams Funeral Home in Peru, Indian was in charge of the arrangements.
