Cecil Banks Jr., 85, Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, Peru, Miami County, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010 at his residence, and his two nieces were with him. He was born October 27, 1924 in Miami County to Cecil "Buff" Banks Sr. and Lola (Townsend) Banks. He had two siblings, a brother and a sister.
Cecil served in the U. S. Army and retired from the Freeman Factory. Survivors include two nieces, Gloria Bockover and husband Bill, and Mary Ann Fuqua and husband Merle, all of Peru, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lewis "Tag" W. Banks (1922-1984) and his sister Betty M. Banks Ramer (1926-2008). Graveside services ill be 11:30 am Monday at Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru, with Pastor Butch Sparling officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru, Indiana. No visitation is planned. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third Street.
He was a beloved brother, son, and uncle whose presence will be missed.
