MR. CHARLES OTIS DINGLE SR. was born on August 30,1932 at Dave Flowers Farm in RockRidge, North Carolina, Wilson County to the late Reverend Irvin Dingle Sr. and Theola Riley Dingle. Charles was the youngest of eight children. On Friday August 27,2010 GOD silently sent His Angles to bring Charles into His Heavenly Home. Charles attended Williamson High School in Lucama, North Carolina, Wilson County on September 5,1946 thru May 1950 and graduated on May 29,1950 from Williamson High School. Charles worked as a Farmer and Charles was an School Bus Driver. On February 21,1952 Charles United in Holy Matrimony to the late Mrs. Dorothy M. Baines-Dingle in Dillon South Carolina. Their union was blessed with six children. Charles was drafted in the United States Army on February 24, 1953 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Charles served in the Korean War and received the Korean Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, Rox Presidential Unit Citation and a Good Conduct Medal. Charles was honorably discharged as a Private First Class on December 2,1954. In 1957 Charles relocated his family to Baltimore, Maryland. Charles held several jobs as an Porter, as an Bus Driver for the Baltimore City Public Schools System, as an Bus Driver for Wheeler's Transportation, as an Bus Driver for Harford Motor Coach Company and in 1971 thru 1995, Charles worked for the National Security Agency (NSA) at Fort Meade, Maryland as an Bus Driver in The DOL Transportation Division Transport Branch. Charles received the Eighth Safe Driver's Award and a Maryland Letter of Appreciation from NACSI during his career. Charles retired from NSA Motor Pool after twenty-four years and six months of dedicated service. Charles accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and attended First Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church of Baltimore, Maryland. Charles met and married Pamela R. Eastman on July 1,2000 and became the proud and nurturing father to La'Kendra. Charles and Pam shared a very close and loving relationship. They loved to travel and spend quality time together. The highlight of some of their travels was the trip to Hawaii, where they toured Pearl Harbor. While at Pearl Harbor, to Charles' surprise was one of his fellow serviceman from the Korean War working as a Tour Guide. They talked for a while about their experiences in The Army and what happened at Pearl Harbor. Charles was a loving, kind and affectionate husband, father, grandfather and friend. Charles was always ready and willing to share whatever he had, no matter how great or small. Charles was a simple man and led a peaceful life. Charles loved sweets, especially homemade cakes and pies. Charles was a wise man and often shared his life "stories". Charles always looked forward to attending his family reunion, where he would see all of his relatives from various States. Charles enjoyed working on cars and watching the Baltimore Orioles Baseball games. Charles had a passion for driving, if it had wheels, Charles could drive it. Charles was especially proud to teach Pam how to drive a Motor Coach Bus. After Pam received her CDL License, Charles told Pam "now you can hang with the big dogs". "Funny" as Charles was fondly called by all who loved and knew, will be sincerely missed by everyone. Preceded Charles in death: one son~Griffin Dingle Sr. and Charles first wife~Mrs. Dorothy Mae Baines Dingle and one grandson~Lamont Jerome Dingle.
CHARLES Leaves To Cherish His Loving Memories: his devoted wife and sweetie Pamela R. Dingle; four daughters: Mrs Evon Bryant, Ms. Evette Dingle, Mrs. Rochelle Miller and La'Kendra Eastman; two sons: Mr. Charles O. Dingle Jr. and Mr. Cornelius D. Dingle; two sons-in-law: Mr. Rudy Bryant and Mr. Kevin Miller; eighteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; one sister: Mary Elizabeth Dingle of Wilson, North Carolina and one brother: Bishop Irvin Dingle Jr. of Miami, Florida; seven sisters-in-law: Mrs. Arlene Dingle of Miami, Florida, Mrs. Ruby Dingle Of Durham, North Carolina, Mrs. Virginia Baines Williams of Baltimore, Maryland, Mrs. Lillie Baines King of New York, Ms. Jackie Baines of Aberdeem, Maryland, D'Juana Boone and Renee' Boone; five brother-in-law: Mr. John Baines of New York, Mr. Dennis Baines of Baltimore, Maryland, Mr. Chris Baines of Harve-de Grace, Maryland Mr. Robert Williams and Kevin Boone; one god-daughter: Mrs. Lynn Regester of Memphis, Tennessee and a host of other relatives and friends.
