Deacon John Wesley Dingle was the beloved son of the late Reverend Irvin Dingle Sr. and Theole Riley Dingle was born on September 13, 1921 in Clarendon County, South Carolina. The family relocated to Wilson County, North Carolina where John was raised. John was the third child of eight children.(Three siblings preceded John into death: Ruth Pendergrass, Josephine Hickey and Carrie Ella Bunn).
John received his early education in the North Carolina Public School System and John worked as a Farmer. John met and married Mrs. Katie Lee Long Lother and their union was blessed with two children.
In the year of 1947 John relocated to Miami Florida and was employed with Giffen Roofing Company. John retired after working thirty-eight years. Realizing the importance of a Church Home John became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend J.A. Finlayson and John served faithfully on the Usher Board #2.
In later years Deacon John W. Dingle met and fell in love with Mrs. Mary Lee Boges-Silas and on May 7, 1954 they were joined together in Holy Matrimony.
On November 27, 1977 John W. Dingle was Ordained as a Deacon at United Christian Church of Christ under the leadership of Bishop Irvin Dingle Jr. Deacon John W. Dingle served faithfully on the Deacon Board and Deacon John also drove the Church Bus until his health began to fail.
Deacon John was a devoted husband, father grandfather, brother and friend.
On December 8, 2001 at his home, GOD silently called John W. Dingle into His Heavenly Home.
John will be sincerely missed by his loving wife: Missionary Mary Dingle; son: Edward Lee Dingle(Maryann); two daughters: Gracie Lee Roundtree(Larry) of North Carolina and Evangelist Gracydine Silas Green of Miami, Florida; sister: Mary E Dingle of Wilson, North Carolina; brothers: Bishop Irvin Dingle Jr.(Arlena) of Miami, Florida, Deacon James A. Dingle(Ruby) of North Carolina and Charles O Dingle Sr.(Pamela) of Baltimore, Maryland; mother-in-law: Deaconess Georgia Boges of Delray Beach, Florida; brother-in-law: John T. Boges of Delray Beach, Florida; sisters-in-law: Loretha Gass of Boynton Beach, Florida and Juanita Forehand of Miami Florida; three godchildren: Charles Tyrone Forehand, Randy Gass and Bain Dingle; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
NOTE: The North Carolina-1940 United States Census has Deacon John Wesley Dingle's birth year listed as 1923.
