Another golden smile has faded from our presence. Marjorie Griffin Sanders, 66, of Ogden caught flight from this earthly life of woes, pains, sorrows and landed in her heavenly home of joy, peace, and happiness in the presence of God. She was born July 14, 1931 in Haynesville, Louisiana to the late Harvey Griffin and Ruby Gosden. She attended the public schools in Buckner, Arkansas.

She had been employed by St. Benedict Hospital as a housekeeper, and the Marriott Corporation as a baker until here retirement.

She was a licensed Missionary in the Church of God in Christ and served in various position: Choir President, Musician, Pastor Aide, Sewing Circle, Mothers Board, and President of the State Hospitality of the Women Department. She had been a member of the Emmanuel and Griffin Memorial Churches of God in Christ in Ogden. She was presently a member of the Finley Temple Church of God in Christ.

She was preceded in death by here husband, both parents and a brother. She is survived by a son, Timothy Hadley, Ogden; three daughters, Ruby Nagy, Ogden; Ruth Hadden, Salt Lake City; and Mary Andrews, Compton, CA. Twelve grandchildren: Ron Carter, Seattle WA; Arnessia Jones, Indianaplis IN; Rose Jones, Louisville KY; Micah Jones, Dallas TX; Jonathan Jones, Jeffersonville IN; Gregory Hadden, Salt Lake City; Bobette (Gary) Rucker, Ogden; Mioko Sanders, Compton CA; Dewan Nagy, Ogden; Lawana Nagy, Ogden; Jeffery Sanders, Portland OR; and LaShawn Andrews, Compton, CA. One adopted son, Scott Bookman; two adopted daughters: Roxanne Frazier, Roy; and Lucille Jones, Ogden. Two sisters: Elizabeth Evans and Mary Jones, both of Lansing MI; one adopted sister: Ruby Cappadge, Dover DE; fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

Services were held on Saturday, January 24, 1998, beginning at 11:00 a.m at the Finley Temple Church of God in Christ, 119 West 30th Street, Ogden, Utah, with Elder Henry McAllister Officiating. There will be a viewing Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., and one hour prior to service. Internment: Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, South Ogden, Utah
