Christopher was probably born at Philip's Patent, N.Y. He married Anna Sheaffe about 1754. They had 7 children:
Christopher b. 1755;
Nicholas b. 1758;
Truman b. 1760;
Marcia b. 1763;
Thomas b. 1767;
Lorana b. 1772;
Nathan b. unknown.
With his brothers Reuben and Samuel, Christopher set off from Connecticut and joined the American Revolution in 1775. On Dec. 31, 1775, an attempt to take Quebec failed. The American forces laid siege to the city. Smallpox invaded the city's citadel, prisoner's compound and the American Camp. It appeared in the American camp a week before Christmas. Ultimately Christopher died of smallpox on the Isle of Orleans just below the city. When the company broke camp a burial pit was covered over. Christopher lies in the unmarked common grave in Canada on the Isle of Orleans
