Jensine was born in Stavanger, Norway,the daughter of Rasmus Rasmussen and Kirsten Berntsdatter. Jessie left Norway at the ate of 15 and sailed on the Germanic arriving in New York on June 13, 1890. She would eventually marry Julius Emil Johnson, also from Norway,on Sept.28, 1895 and had 7 children. Julius died in 1916 and Jessie went to work as a housekeeper. She lived in Chicago, Oak Park and Fox Lake, Illinois, where she was always surrounded by family.
