Mary Jacqueline "Jackie" Meyer, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away August 29, 2015. She was 80.

Jackie was born July 4, 1935 in Tulsa to Ralph and Mary Hewson. Jackie said July 4th was the best birth date. As a young girl she thought the fireworks were just for her.

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Trudi Logan and son-in-law, Steve Logan of Guthrie; son, Ralph Meyer and daughter-in-law, Sandy Meyer of Tuttle; son, Mike Meyer of Boston, MA; son, Steve Meyer of Kansas City, MO; and five grandchildren, Raleigh Logan, Kennedy Logan, Jaxon Meyer, Reagan Meyer and Sarah Meyer.

Jackie loved family gatherings, going out for dinner, and getting together with family and friends for game night. She was a competitive card player, and a regional master at Duplicate Bridge. She enjoyed trying her luck at the blackjack tables, but was equally content to spend an afternoon with a good book.

Jackie's family and friends will miss her sweet spirit, her smile, and her baked beans, which had become quite famous in her church group.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 5 at Edmond Christian Church.

Jackie's wish was to donate her body for research to the OU Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Heavenly Hospice (www.heavenlyhospiceok.com).
