KENTUCKY RECORDS VOLS. 3, 4, 5 by Annie W. Burns
Record of wills in Nelson Co., KY., for the period of years 1784 to 1851 inclusive. p.16
BOYLE, William: Will dated 8/12/1840, probated 9/14/1840. Bequeath $1000 to my natural daughter Sarah Ann Boyle, (who is the natural daughter of Mrs. Mires) of the County of Posey and State of Indiana "to be held in trust by friend William J. Lowry until she marries or arrives at the age of 21 years, $1000 to go to Robert Boyle, my brother-in-law William Wade and Enoch Kimball, if said daughter dies before she comes of age or marries. Devises two slaves to Thomas Linthicum, to brother Henry Boyle horses etc. to brother Robert Boyle gold watch. Apparel to Robert & William Kimball. Land in Missouri to brother Robert Boyle and sister Catharine Wade. Ex: T. P. Linthicum. Wits: B. Franklin Slaughter, Thomas Wellington. Book 3, p.123.
Although marriage records of Posey Co., IN indicate that Cyrus Fisher married Sarah Ann Myers, this was incorrect. Her mother's name was, at that time, Myers. Sarah Boyle is listed in the Bible records of Bill Fisher, who is a descendant of Cyrus through William Adam Fisher, son of Pinder William and Allie Phillips. His family has lived in the Macedonia, IL area for over 140 years.
Other Boyle families in Posey Co., IN, are probably kin to Sarah's father William. One could be his brother - a John Boyle, of Irish descent, born in Kentucky 04 Jan 1792, and married to Elizabeth Ross who was born in Maryland. This family came from KY to Indiana by 1818.
From "A History of Macedonia, Illinois" a project of the Eighth Grade Class of Ewing-Northern School May 1991. Page 1: "...Grandmother Moss (Sarah C. Moss) died Oct 1, 1868. Mr. Moss then married Sarah Ann Fisher, a widow with three children at home, John, Martha, and Marshall." However, the 1910 Illinois soundex shows Loveless C. Moss' wife's name is Lucindy C. Moss born January 1849 in TN., so some of this information conflicts. Sarah (Boyle) Fisher was buried as a Fisher, not as a MOSS.
Sarah's obituary listed her children and her 67 grandchildren (nine were dead at the time of her death), and 21 living great-grandchildren. She joined the Methodist Church in Franklin Co., IL in 1842.
