Rudolph Max was born August 6, 1862 at Trena, County of Lernrong, Saxony, Germany, to Emil Oscar and Antonie Hedwig 'Eysoldt' Heydenreich. He had one brother, George Woldemar and two sisters, Katharina born May 7, 1858 and Hedwig Marka born May 25, 1857. He also had two half-sisters, Clementine Gertrud born April 6, 1873, Elise Theodore 'Dora' born July 1, 1874, and three half-brothers, Hans Waldemar born November 1, 1875, Emil Franz born March 18, 1877 and Georg Martin born November 1, 1879. His mother, Antonie Hedwig, died June 30, 1870 and his father re-married on July 10, 1872 to Anna Elise 'Simon'.

His brother George came to the US ahead of Max and became a farmer near Medicine Lodge, KS where he resided until his death. George's memorial # is 76443074 and he is buried in Highland Cemetery in Medicine Lodge, KS.

Max became a doctor in Germany. After he came to the US he was a Doctor in Chicago, IL.
Later he became a pharmacist and moved to Antioch, IL. While in Chicago he married Mary Victoria Priller, from Chicago, IL, on November 27, 1895 in Milwaukee, WI.

It is thought that Max and May were both cremated upon death and it is not known what happened to their ashes.
