The Puyallup Herald September 26, 1924 - PUYALLUP PIONEER - DIES AT HOME -- Mrs. Bertha Barry, 80-year-old pioneer of Puyallup, died last Saturday evening at the family home at 410 3rd street northwest after a protracted illness of several months. Mrs. Barry came here from Wisconsin in 1889 and made her home here for the past 35 years. Although she has been unable to go about for some time, she is well known here and her death is being mourned by scores of friends. She was a member of the Methodist church and the Women’s Relief Corps of the G.A.R.
She is survived by one son, Geo. A Barry; one daughter, Mrs. John Mills, Jr.; and 5 grandchildren, Bertha Mills, Edward Mills, Henry Barry, Irwin Barry and Mrs. Lloyd McCracken. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Spurr-Dunlap chapel at 2 o’clock. Burial was in Woodbine cemetery.
