BRADLEY, Gordon - Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, Gordon Bradley (retired Businessman) of Bonavista, age 78 years. Predeceased by his father F. Gordon Bradley, mother Ethel Louise (Roper) Bradley, brother John. Leaving to mourn his wife Marjorie (Way), son David (Paula), nephew and niece, John Bradley (Lisa) and Jennifer Bradley (Paul), sister-in-law Sylvia (Hunt) Bradley and many other relatives, friends and acquaintances. Throughout his life he was heavily involved in community service as a longtime mayor and town councillor in Bonavista, and he was the towns first Fire Chief. A long time member of the Newfoundland Historical Society, he was also a founding member of the Bonavista Historical Society and the Bonavista Historic Townscape Foundation of which he has been the long-term president and chair, respectively. Visitation at Strathies Funeral Home, Bonavista, December 11th (Thursday), 7-9 p.m. and December 12th (Friday), 10-12, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at Memorial United Church, Bonavista, Saturday, December 13th, 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Town of Bonavista (for the Garrick Theatre Capital Campaign), P.O. Box 279, Bonavista, NL A0C 1B0.
