CARVER, HELEN F.,87, of Springfield, Ohio passed away on Wednesday in Mercy Medical Center. She was born in Mason County, West Virginia to Benjamin F. and Mamie (Oliver) Woomer, after Benjamin F. Woomer passed away, Mamie married to Joseph Dickinsheets. She graduated from Brown Township High School in Fletcher, Ohio, where she played on the girl's basket team. She had been a Springfield resident over 50 years. Helen was a full time homemaker, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to sew, expecially for her Church, Northminster Presbyterian Church. The church and its members were an important part of her life. Her other interests were feeding the backyard animals, birds, flowers, sports, and any activities involving her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thurmon Carver, whom she married November 30, 1940; brother, Lorne Woomer; and sisters, Opal Grant and Grace Rose.
