PRINCETON - Alex Bemis, 80. Champlin, formerly as a mentor of the Princeton area, died Saturday at Mercy Medical Center , Coon Rapids.
Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hanson Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Wiseman will officiate. Burial will be in Milo Cemetery.
Mr. Bemis was born Sept. 22, 1903, in Estes Brook, Mille Lacs county, to the late Alva and Elizabeth (Vernon) Bemis. he married Leona Anderson July 9, 1929 in Minneapolis and the couple farmed in Estes Brook several years before moving to Champlin in 1952. He was employed as a mechanic by Heinen Mason Co., Osseo, until retiring in 1973.
Survivors include his wife, Leona , Champlin, and brother George, Foreston.
Pallbearers will be Clifford, Bud, Jim, Bill and Kenny Bemis and Alan Strombeck.
