John Antonson Funeral Services Held Friday
(aka Carl John Antonson, C.J. Antonson)
Funeral services for Carl John Antonson were held Friday at the Anderson Funeral home at 2 pm with R. Gerald Davis of Anoka officiating. Interment was made in the family lot in the Nelson Cemetery.
Pallbearers were George Fairfield, David Reed, Henry Hanson, Cleve Olson, Andrew Hauglie and Soren Jensen.
Mr. Antonson passed away Monday, July 24, at his home in Alexandria.
Carl John Antonson was born in Norway Sept. 6, 1864, the son of Karen and Anton Hanson. He grew to manhood in Norway and was confirmed in 1879 by Rev. Albert Lange. IN May 1882, at the age of 18, he immigrated to America with his parents and his brother Hans. A sister Marian, and a brother Michael, had immigrated three years before.
He came to this community and was employed as a carpenter and did farm work. For 15 years he was employed at the furniture factory in Alexandria.
On April 11, 1888, he was united in marriage to Mary Carlson by Rev. O.P. Oien.
Mr. Antonson learned cabinet making and the jewelry trade and operated a jewelry store in Alexandria for some years. In later years he did watch making and jewelry work at his residence.
Mr. Antonson is survived by two nieces and one nephew: Mrs. Mary Carlson of Rockford, Illinois, Mrs. Cora Hendrickson of Portland Ore., and John C. Antonson of Minneapolis. Also surviving are Mrs. Hattie Hanson of Vancouver, British Columbia, Louis Hanson of Alberta, Canada, Iler (Eiler?) Hanson of Port Townsend, Washington, Mrs. Soren Sorenson of Coure d'Alene, Idaho.
His wife, parents and two brothers preceded him in death.

The cemetery record and obituary says his parents are Anton and Karen Hanson. I found a good match for his birth and baptism in Norway at familysearch.org
