Anthony S. Kalinowski, founder and president of one of Trenton's best known business firms, Kalina Products Inc., producer of Kalina Kielbasi (Polish sausage), died yesterday afternoon of a heart attack. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Helene Fuld Hospital. Mr. Kalinowski, who resided at 1034 North Olden Avenue, was 68 years old. Born in Irvington, he moved to Trenton 48 years ago. In 1932 he established the Kalina firm, manufacturing meat products, the best known of which is Kalina kielbasa. The plant, operated by Mr. Kalinowski and his sons, is located at 111 West Paul Avenue. In addition to his provisions business, Mr. Kalinowski was noted as a musician, playing with the Stanley Ryba Band. He was a life member of the Trenton Musical Association, Local 69. He was an organizer and past president of the Trenton Polish American Democratic Club; former vice-chairman of the Mercer County Democratic Party; former member of the board of directors of Polish Falcons Nest 59; and a charter member and organizer of the Polish American Club of Central New Jersey. A veteran of both World Wars I and II, he was a charter member of North Trenton Post 458 of the American Legion, and a member of Catholic War Veterans, Holy Cross Post 417. Mr. Kalinowski also was a member of Eagles, Trenton Aerie 100; B.P.O. Elks, Lodge 105; the Trenton Men's Council, Navy League of the United States; St. Hedwig's Holy Name Society; St. Michael's Catholic Club; Trenton Industrial Management Club, and the Tri-Community Concerned Citizens Association. He is survived by his wife, the former Anna S. Kowalec; two sons, Raymond P. and Eugene E., both of Trenton, the latter currently a candidate for Trenton City Council; one daughter, Mrs. Joseph J. McManimom of Trenton; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Leon) Sokolski of Bloomfield and Mrs. Sophie Belza of Irvington, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral services will be 8 a.m. Wednesday from the Winowicz Funeral Chapel, 865 Brunswick Avenue, followed by a requiem high mass at 9 a.m. at St. Hedwig's Church. Interment will be in St. Hedwig's Cemetery, Ewing Township. Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 3 p.m. Tuesday. The rosary will be recited by the Holy Name Society at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Other Tuesday services will e by the Polish Falcons at 7:30 p.m.; Polish American Club of Central New Jersey at 7:45 p.m.; Elks at 8 p.m.; American Legion Post 458 at 8:30 p.m., Catholic War Veterans, Holy Cross Post, at 9 p.m.
