Married to Armilda J. Andersen (Oct.1,1888-Jan.3,1982)
In 1910, John C Anderson and Armilda were newly married, both 21, and living in a home (with a mortgage), in Blair, Ward 2, Washington County, Nebraska. They had no children as yet, and John was working as a laborer in the lumberyard.
John C Andersen was a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He usually worked as a rural mail carrier, though there was a time (1917, when he filled out his Draft Card) that he delivered mail in town.
In 1917, John C was described as a tall, stout man, with light blue eyes and brown hair. He had served in the Nebraska National Guard for 2 1/2 years, was married and had two children at home, but he went on to serve in WWI (the 1930 Census shows it as the "World War").
By 1930, John C and his wife, Armilda, had 4 children: Milton, born ~1911, Leon, born ~1914, Marvin M, born ~1922 and John C, born ~1924. In later census records, his occupation was usually a rural mail carrier.
From at least 1935 and through the 1940 Census time, they was living in Omaha, NE at 4113 22nd Street. Son Marvin M, 19 by then, was still living at home, but working at a cereal milling company, doing something (popping?) with wheat. The 16-year old son, John C, was still at home, 16 and attending school.
