George Cook an Evarts taxicab operator, died Sunday at his home in River Ridge after a short illness. He was 27.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Evarts Pentecostal Church of God with the Rev. Henry Long and the Rev. Charles Treblo officiating. Burial will be in Harlan County Memorial Gardens.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by mother, Mrs. Mandy Cook, River Ridge; three brothers, Lloyd of Verda; Silas & Junior of River Ridge; and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Jenkins, River Ridge; Judy Fultz and Ruby Stapleton, Virginia.
The body is at the family home and will remain there until the funeral hour. Cousins will serve as pallbearers.
Evarts Funeral home is in charge.
