The last services for the late Mrs. Hattie A. Edwards of Oelwein, Iowa, were held in the Christian church with Rev. Chambers of Perry, Iowa, officiating and interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Hattie A Ford was born near Littleton, Buchanan County Iowa April 24, 1866. She was united in marriage to Dennis D. Edwards on September 22, 1885, at Independence, Iowa. To this union were born one child, Frank (married in 1908 to Myrtle Francis Powers) of this city.
Mrs. Edwards has been a devoted wife and mother, making life pleasant for all those who came in contact with her. She became a member of the Christian church in 1899.
She was taken to Oelwein hospital on Friday, March 15, 1918, where she underwent an operation and passed away there March 19, 1918.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and son also the following grandchildren: Edna, Gordon, George and Charles Edwards of this city, also the brothers and sisters-Irve Ford of Center Point, Grace Hawkins of Billings, Montana, Emma McQueen and A.H.. Ford of Oelwein, besides many nieces and nephews.
