Brian N. Wood, 18, left this world to be with his big brother, Charles David Wood, on Monday, March 8, 2004. He was a lifelong Peninsula resident and he had attended Kecoughtan High School. He was very proud to have accomplished receiving his GED and earning his drivers license in 2003. He is survived by his mother, Tiffany Wood and her companion, Dana Hamilton; his father, Charles Wood and his wife, all of Newport News; his 'sissy' Crystal Gregory and her son, Heyden George Gregory, Brian's nephew; and also his best friend, Meghan. He is also survived by paternal grandparents, Katherine S. and David J. Wood; maternal grandmother, Sandra Ray and her companion, Michelle Bannon; maternal grandfather, Thomas L. Wells and his wife, Lynn, all of Newport News; one uncle, Thomas L. Wells Jr. 'Uncle Buck.' The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 12, at the funeral home by the Rev. Paul Boothby. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, his loving Uncle Brian would want you to continue making donations to the fund set up for his nephew.
