Lowell Watts was the first-born son to Marshall and Inez (Rose) Watts and grew up in Duncan, OK. He became a High School football star at Duncan High School achieving Football All-State honors in 1957. He went on to play college ball at Tulsa University and then was the captain of the team at Cameron University in Lawton, OK. He met my mom, Linda Munson, at Wayne's Drive-In in Lawton. They married and had 2 children, myself and my brother, Mark Watts. My dad loved his family very much. He was very passionate in his support of my brother and his sports and me and my music. He was at most every event my brother and/or I was ever a part of. He'd had a heart attack at age 30 which, I know, influenced him mentally, emotionally, and physically the way he lived out his life. He had a stroke in about 1986 and then died of a heart attack at the age of 49. Waaaay too young. I miss him terribly. He coached little league football and baseball for many years before getting his degree in Secondary Education and coached High School football and baseball - even being given Coach of the Year honor in Baseball in about 1982. He coached at Cameron University, then Snyder High School, then Cache High School. He taught Driver's Ed at the 2 high schools. When he died, he had one grandson, Tyler Watts and one on the way (MacKenzie Stevenson). Though Tyler was 7 mos old, Pop-pop loved him dearly and asked frequently if Tyler could come "over and play". He loved deeply and we miss him every day.
