Virginia Ruth Baker Allen, died peacefully in her sleep at Candle Light Cove on Monday morning, November 26, 2012.
Born on October 28, 1920 in San Antonio Texas, she was the daughter of the late William Berry Cox and Minnie Mann.
Ruth spent most of her very full life in her beloved South, raising her two children, Carolyn and Dan in Mobile, Alabama and then moving to Pascagoula, Mississippi where she owned two businesses. She was an avid bowler, winning the 1959 National Doubles Championship and continued bowling as recently as three years ago.
In 2005 at the age of 85, Hurricane Katrina caused Ruth to leave her life and many friends in Mississippi. She moved to Easton where she attracted many more friends.
Preceding her in death besides her parents is her son Dan Baker.
Surviving is her daughter Carolyn Mills of St. Michaels. She also leaves behind her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her feisty nature.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday December 9th, 2012 at the Christian Science Church, 501 South Washington St., Easton.
