Vivian Adeline Collister, 92, of Jackson, formerly of Cambridge, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Allegiance Hospice Home. She was the daughter of Herman and Fawn (Bowling) Holt, born June 10, 1920 in Haswell, Colorado. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Collister; her parents; four brothers, Donald (Veda) Holt, Harold Holt, Vernon Holt, and Arnold (Florence) Holt; two sisters, Bertha (Richard) Wade, and Patty Holt. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Hoffmann, and Lana (Tim) Black; six grandchildren, Mike (Michelle) Hoffmann, Jim (Tammy) Hoffmann, Corinne Hoffmann, Cody Black, Tori Black, and Rileigh Black; four great-grandchildren, Mariah, Josh, Logan, and Sarah Hoffmann; special nephew and niece, David and Jolien Reppert; numerous other nieces and nephews. Mrs. Collister was a graduate of Galva High School in Galva, Illinois in 1938. She married John H. Collister in Lawton, Oklahoma August 2, 1942. Vivian and her husband John owned J & R Farm Center in Cambridge, Illinois for over 20 years. She enjoyed nature and playing cards with family and friends. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
