BALLIEW, Evelyn May – Age 79, passed away November 13, 1997 at a local hospital. She was born May 17, 1918 in Peoria, Illinois to Lewis and Clara (Maynard) Nichols. She married Walter M. Balliew in 1940. Evelyn had resided in the Myrtle Creek, Oregon, area since 1939. She enjoyed the outdoors, and her yard. Her quiet time was spent with a good western novel or listening to country music. She loved her family very much, and will be deeply missed. Survivors include her sons, Dan Balliew and his wife, Mary of Myrtle Creek, Stephen Balliew of Myrtle Creek, daughter, Diana Balliew of Riddle, Oregon, sisters, Mildred Carr of Peoria, Illinois, Dorothy Lybarger of Peoria, grandchildren Theresa, Jennifer, Daniel and Curtis, six great-grandchildren and another soon to arrive, also numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by infant twin sons, Gary and Larry, sister, Majorie Carr and brother, William Nichols. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME in Myrtle Creek.
