Lawwrence E. Dittman of Lamartine dies.
Emlenton- Lawrence Emerson Dittman, 68, of Lamartine, died at 11 pm Monday after he was stricken with a heart attack in his home. He was taken to Franklin Hospital by ambulance. Mr Dittman worked 16 years for Quaker State Refining Corp. in Emlenton, then later for PennDOT retiring in 1975. In recent years, he had been self employed as a truck driver.

He was born September 18, 1909, in Clarion County, a son of Emanuel Peter and Cora Sheffer Dittman, and had been a resident of Lamartine, Richland Township most of his life.

Mr. Dittman was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ, had served on the Salem School Board and was a former member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Beals; nine sons, Lawrence James Dittman of Maryland, Robert Dittman of San Mateo, Calif., Walter Dittman of Columbus, Ohio, Donald Dittman of Warren, Ohio, William Dittman of New Bern, N.C., Harry Dittman of Cleveland, Ohio, Eugene Dittman of Newton Falls, Ohio, John Dittman of Keyser, W. Virginia, and Kenneth Dittman at home.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Mullen of Emlenton RD. Mrs Nancy McClintock of Reno, and Dorothy Bell at home; A brother, Eugene Dittman of Clearwater, Fla.; 32 grandchildren and a great grandchild.

An infant daughter, an infant son and three sisters, Blanche Eisenhuth, Mildred Bechtel and Bertha Klinaman are deceased.

Friends will be recieved from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today at the Robert Criswell Funeral Home in Emlenton, where funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday. Rev. Ralph Link, pastor of St. Pauls United Church of Christ in Butler, will officiate. Interment will be in the Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery.
