Ardis L. Brown, 93, died of causes related to age Monday, March 28, 2005, at Latah Care Center in Moscow.

She was born July 8, 1911, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Elva and Harry Crain. She attended schools in Iowa City, Iowa, and graduated there in 1929.

She married Roger Brown from Tiffin, Iowa, Sept. 27, 1935, at Rock Island, Ill. Their first home was in Iowa City where Roger operated a service station and drove truck. In 1939 they moved to Nampa where Roger operated a service station for five years.

When Roger came back from World War II in 1946, they moved to Potlatch. In 1952, they started a dairy, which they operated until 1975. They moved from the farm into Potlatch in 1988.

She was a member of the Elmore United Methodist Church and was a Sunday school teacher for more than 20 years.

She enjoyed gardening and loved to read.

Survivors include one son, Clay Brown of Omak, Wash.; two granddaughters, Stacie Rizzo of Cherry Grove, Ore., and Kristi Fagerness of Auburn, Wash.; and one nephew, David Crane of Sunnyvale, Calif., who lived with Ardis and Roger for eight years.

The memorial service is at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Elmore Church north of Potlatch. Pastor Kathy Kramer of the Elmore Church will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse. Memorial gifts may be given to the Elmore United Methodist Church.
